I need your help.
I have this crazy dream of making Jakarta Urban Blog my full time job.
Jakarta Urban Blog started out as an experiment of sorts and its success, though modest, has exceeded my expectations.
I would like to thank my professors in the Geography Department at the University of Hawaii, Hilo, my family in Jakarta (who have been so kind to me in helping me negotiate the streets of Jakarta), and the many kind and wonderful people I have met since Jakarta Urban Blog began posting, especially those in the Indonesian and Jakarta blogging community. I would also like to thank my readers living in the seventy-six countries which have visited this site. Your interest in much appreciated.
You may or may not have noticed that I have placed a PayPal “donate” button in the left column of Jakarta Urban Blog. This will take you to the PayPal site where you can make a financial contribution. This is easy to do if you have a PayPal account or easy to sign up for one. If you are unable to use this link my mailing address is now posted on my Support page.
There are other ways in which you can contribute to Jakarta Urban Blog as well.

Jakarta Urban Blog was initiated in Novemeber, 2007. Your support is greatly appreciated and we hope you visit us frequently. WE would like to expand this effort to include Indonesian writers and to conduct projects in Jakarta which, we hope, will contribute to the understanding of its urban geography. We rely on your donations to:
- propose, develop, and execute projects related to urban issues in Jakarta
- expand web content and introduce new Indonesian writers working in Jakarta
- expand web site to maintain the security of the content of the site
- add new features to the website
- ensure that we continue to deliver a diverse range of quality content for our english and bahasa Indonesia readers
Jakarta Urban Blog maintains a policy of privacy for all financial contributors.
10% of all financial contributions will be donated to charity or NGO’s working in Jakarta on issues of the urban poor, social justice, human rights, gender equality, and education.
All contributions exceeding the minimum operation costs of Jakarta Urban Blog will be donated as well.
Jakarta Urban Blog will post an annual financial statement in keeping with the open and transparent philosophy of the site.
